EIGHT FATE天命

天命 — destiny

Discover YourFour Pillars

Calculated from the 10,000-year calendar and true solar time. Your destiny written in the stars, read in clear English.

A living sky, written in five elements

In Chinese astronomy the five visible planets carry the five elements: Jupiter is the Wood Star (木星), Mars the Fire Star (火星), Saturn the Earth Star (土星), Venus the Metal Star (金星), and Mercury the Water Star (水星). At the centre the Sun stands for the Day Master (日主); the Moon is its Yin counterpart.

What is your Chinese zodiac sign?

The familiar doorway in. Your zodiac animal is just one-eighth of your full Chinese birth chart — but it is where every journey begins.

Date, time, and place. We quietly resolve historical timezones and daylight saving for you.

02

Calculated, never guessed

Your Four Pillars of Destiny are computed from the 10,000-year calendar, solar terms, and true solar time. Deterministic code — not an AI's hunch.

03

Read your destiny in clear English

Only once your Chinese birth chart is fixed does the interpretation begin — warm, mystical, never a wall of jargon.

"We keep calculation and interpretation apart. Your chart is fixed by astronomy; only the storytelling is written for you."

Our methodology

The eight characters, decoded

Heavenly Stems 天干 & Earthly Branches 地支

Each of your four pillars is a pair: a Heavenly Stem (天干) on top — the ten characters that name an element and its polarity — over an Earthly Branch (地支) below, the twelve that name an animal, a season and a double-hour. Ten over twelve, cycling together, give the sixty 甲子 combinations. Four pillars × two characters = your eight characters (八字).

天干 · The Ten Heavenly Stems

Five elements × two polarities. The Yang form is the element at its most outward; the Yin form, the same element turned inward. Your Day Master is one of these ten.

地支 · The Twelve Earthly Branches

The twelve you already half-know: each carries a zodiac animal, its own element and polarity, and the two-hour slice of the day it governs. Your birth hour picks one of them.
